AGRI INTERVENTIONS
Agriculture plays a vital role in India’s economy. Over 58 per cent of the rural households depend on agriculture as their principal means of livelihood. Agriculture, along with fisheries and forestry, is one of the largest contributors to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
To move up the villages to the next level, a range of initiatives like soil testing, seed selection, seed treatment, farmer counselling, vegetable cultivation, agricultural yield improvement, etc, are undertaken.
Activities such as bee keeping and mushroom cultivation serves the purpose for additional source of income in the hands of farmers in the given size of land. Regular training programs are conducted in the village to identify and train the villagers to guide them on various activities hence, resulting in reduction in inputs costs and increase in Crop Yield.
A detailed agriculture baseline survey is conducted for the farmers which is extremely useful for carrying out all the above initiatives and measuring Impact.
